Hemp oil is a vegetable fat obtained by hot pressing or cold pressing from hemp seeds. For the Slavic, and especially Russian people, hemp oil has long been in first place - it was used to cook food, it was added to soups and salads.
Composition and useful properties of hemp oil
The chemical composition of hemp oil includes: beta-carotene, vitamins B1, B2, B5, B6, B9, B12, C, E, H and PP, as well as potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper and manganese, iron, iodine, phosphorus and sodium. Hemp seed oil is one of the few plant foods that contain vitamin D (calorizer). In terms of quantity and balance of Omega 6 to Omega 3 essential fatty acids, it can compete for primacy with fatty varieties of fish and fish oil.
Use of hemp oil in cooking
Hemp oil has a light green to dark green color, a delicate, pleasant aroma and a slightly sour taste.
Cold-pressed hemp oil has a pleasant, delicate aroma of freshly cut grass and tastes like grass with bitterness and sourness. It will serve as a pleasant addition to your table.
However, it should be remembered that this butter has a very low smoking point, which means that it should not be subjected to heat treatment. Use it only in its raw form, as a dressing for vegetable and fruit salads, pasta, already cooked porridge, vegetable dishes and soups.
Do you like to make homemade mayonnaise? Try substituting sunflower oil for hemp oil. Not only will you get a completely different flavor, but you'll also be giving your body a healthy gift.
